Inspection of tracks

Inspection of tracks and laser scanning for track design and certification is used to measure the coordinates of the track in order to determine the plan and profile of the railway track. Traditionally, the railway geometrical parameters are determined by using track measurement cars the main purpose of which is to compare the position of three points on measuring base of 20m limited by the car length. The disadvantages of such method are evident- the main problem here is impossibility to use smaller measuring base. To solve it the laboratory of geodesy has developed various measuring systems – “Profile” and “Profile-M” based on GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System).

Engineering and geological
examination of the roadbed

The laboratory of geology has developed the technology of compaction, fixing and reinforcement of soils of the roadbed. They make drainage wells and drainage of the roadbed with the extrusion of water from its cavities and directed injection of the hardening grout.
Also, hardening, fixing and reinforcement of the roadbed is carried out using metal rods, microspheres of different designs, pressure injections, and a combination of these methods.

Technologies of consolidation, fixing and reinforcement
of soils of the roadbed

The bridge laboratory has developed the technology for repairing and strengthening reinforced concrete bridge structures using composite materials (carbon plastic).
The usage of external reinforcement systems based on carbon fibers proved to be highly efficient for strengthening the support of bridges with cracks, fractures, and chipped concrete. This technology can significantly shorten the time required for such work and reduce costs.

Automated control system for technical condition of constructive works
Development of an automated system for controlling the technical state of engineering structures is used to store and process data on engineering structures and their technical condition and store graphic information (diagrams, photographs, drawings) about such structures.

The system of railway defectoscopy simulators
The laboratory of non-destructive testing developed an acoustic-emission diagnostic system for nondestructive testing of elements of rolling stock allows detecting and processing information that helps to determine the coordinates of defects such as cracks, corrosion, as well as the coordinates of integrity defects and their severity.

Transport model of cities and agglomerations
The laboratory of information technologies is engaged in the design of transport models of cities and agglomerations used to optimize public transport and other types of transport.
Such models help to make efficient decisions in the field of transport complex management while designing, planning and reconstructing transportation hubs.
