Established on the basis of the distance-learning branch of NIIZhT in 1956. V. Ye. Ermilin was its first Dean.
 Faculty Today: • 470 first-year students • 3 000 students • 4 specialist classrooms The students of the Distance Learning Faculty have at their disposal a separate book-borrowing subdivision and a reading room at the University Scientific Technical Library. The faculty has a comfortable dormitory, which accommodates 50 people.
Course duration: • Traditional part-time (6 years) • Intensive training(4.5years) • Second higher education degree (3 years)
The Distance Learning Faculty trains students in 14 majors: • Law • Finance and Credit • Accounting, Bookkeeping and Auditing • Enterprise Economics and Management (Railway Transport and Construction) • Human Resource Management • Standardization and Certification (Railway Transport) • Machine Manufacturing Technology • Lifting and Hoisting, Road Building Machines and Equipment • Maintenance of Transport and Engineering Machines and Equipment • Transportation and Transport Operation Management in Railway Industry • Civil Engineering • Water Supply and Sewerage • Railway Construction, Track and Track Facilities • Bridges and Transport Tunnels
The faculty co-operates with Human Resource Management Departments of the West-Siberian, Krasnoyarsk, East-Siberian and South-Ural railways in terms of student enrollment and training.
The Distance Learning Faculty has over 7,000 graduates.
